Mia Dansereau-Ligtenberg is a historian, organic farmer, and entrepreneur who grew up in Montreal. Passionate about the medicinal power of plants, her earliest memory is of her mother preparing chamomile tea with honey. After earning a master's degree in history, where she studied traditional remedies in Quebec, she and three partners started a market gardening collective in the Mauricie region. They lovingly tend their fields and cultivate some sixty varieties of organic plants and vegetables with a joyful spirit. Her favorite medicinal plant is calendula, which she uses as an infused oil in her balms for her baby's bottom and on her dry, chapped hands.
