On the slopes of Mount Hakodate in northern Japan, the Donna Donna café offers its customers the chance to travel through time, much like Tokyo's Funiculi Funicula. Among them are Hikari, who feels guilty for having refused her boyfriend's marriage proposal; Michiko, haunted by the memory of her father whom she rejected; and Sunao, who mourns her dog.
