Paris, during the Second World War. While the city is occupied, only one luxury hotel remains open: the Ritz, which becomes the Luftwaffe headquarters. Within its walls, Gestapo agents, celebrities, resistance fighters, and war profiteers mingle and cross paths under the watchful eye of Frank Meier, the bartender, an Austrian émigré of Jewish origin.
