Learning that your child has a severe food allergy or multiple allergies is a real shock! Often feeling helpless in the face of this situation, parents don't know where to find resources or advice from those who have already been through it. This is certainly what Chérilyne Lalonde experienced when she received a diagnosis of multiple allergies for her 6-month-old baby. No instruction manual or practical guide was offered to help her cope with her son's new reality, and her own as well. And yet, she desperately needed it! Seven years later, drawing on her extensive research on the subject, the strategies she developed daily, and the little tricks that helped her son live well with his food allergies, Chérilyne has compiled her advice as a mother to share with others. Accepting the situation, organizing meals, the challenge of grocery shopping, managing family and friends, and preparing for social life are just some of the topics covered in this guide, with no other aim than to give parents who need a helping hand to get started! Chérilyne Lalonde is the mother of two boys, including Yan-Thomas, 7, who was born with multiple allergies. Her work in a pharmacy makes her a mother very attentive to ingredient lists, many of whose chemical terms may seem harmless but are dangerous for children with allergies. A true epicurean, she has always challenged herself to make her child's plate as appealing as everyone else's. Anne-Marie Lafleur holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Hispanic Studies and is a graduate of Promédia. She worked for several years in radio and television broadcasting at various regional stations in Quebec and Saskatchewan, and has also worked as a freelance journalist. A mother of four, she is a passionate foodie who is constantly trying new recipes for her family. With her colorful writing style, she has combined her words and tips with those of Chérilyne.
