Born in Saigon, Lilly Nguyen arrived in Montreal at the age of four and grew up surrounded by French-speaking Quebecers. A communications specialist and public relations professional by trade, her unconventional career path has been punctuated by countless meals, both grand and simple, enjoyed in all types of restaurants, bistros, bars, luxury hotels, and embassies, from New York to Paris, by way of Beijing, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. She has traveled extensively, loves to chat, and excels at debating anything and everything, preferably simultaneously. But what truly captivates her is cuisine, both local and, above all, that of Asia. Robert Beauchemin, an anthropologist by training and a food critic by nature, writes food columns for the daily newspaper La Presse. A seasoned traveler and music enthusiast, he has also been teaching social sciences for twenty years.
